How Much Does a Wedding Planner Cost in the UK?

A transparent guide to UK wedding planner pricing — what you really pay for, and how to know if it's worth it.

It is the question every couple asks at the start of their planning journey, and one that very few planners answer honestly. The truth is, wedding planner fees in the UK vary enormously — across the market you'll see anywhere from around £1,500 for on-the-day coordination to £25,000+ for full planning of a large luxury wedding. What you pay for depends entirely on what you need, and on the planner you choose.

On-the-day coordination — sometimes called 'wedding management' — is for couples who have planned everything themselves and simply need an experienced pair of hands to run the day. The planner takes over in the final weeks, finalises supplier logistics, builds the run sheet, and manages everything from the rehearsal to the last guest leaving. Market rates often run £1,500–£3,500; at E&M, Wedding Day Coordination is a fixed £495 with a clearly defined scope.

Partial planning is for couples who have started the planning, have perhaps booked their venue, but want professional help with supplier selection, styling direction and final coordination. Elsewhere this typically sits in the £4,000–£8,000 range; our Partial Wedding Planning package is a fixed £995.

Full planning means the planner is involved from the very first conversation: defining the creative vision, sourcing the venue, building and managing the supplier team, and coordinating every detail on the day itself. At larger agencies this generally starts around £10,000; our Full Wedding Planning package is a fixed £1,995, with large-scale and multi-day weddings priced individually.

Some planners also use a percentage-based model, typically 12% to 18% of the total wedding budget. We use fixed prices at E&M because we believe couples deserve absolute clarity on costs from day one — every package has a defined scope, and anything beyond it is priced separately and agreed in writing before you commit.

What couples often underestimate is the financial return a good planner delivers. Our suppliers consistently quote our clients better rates than they would receive direct, because we deliver volume and reliable working relationships. We also catch budget creep early — the small upgrades, last-minute additions, and supplier overruns that quietly add 10–15% to most weddings.

Our honest advice: don't choose a planner on price alone. Choose someone whose previous work you love, whose communication style suits you, and whose calm energy you trust to be at your side on the most important day of your life. Get the fit right, and the value will more than justify the fee. Ready to talk numbers?
